Aron Frogge was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. Her mother, an artist and art educator, introduced Aron to art at an early age. With interests in ceramics and fiber art throughout her early school years, Aron went on to study ceramics, art history, fiber art and interior design at Arizona State University. ln1980 she received a Bachelor of Science degree in interior architecture from the College of Architecture at Arizona State University.

Aron spent the years following in the design field specializing in the design of retail interiors and store fixtures. It was during this time, while managing the store for a major midwest retailer, that Aron renewed her interest in ceramics.

Studying with ceramist Mark Gordon, at the Des Moines art center, Aron experimented with glaze formulations and low firing techniques. Upon her return to Arizona in 1990 she fully realized the value to her in the creation of clay forms and chose to devote full time and energy to her art.

Aron's inspiration comes from ideas and feelings within, and is influenced by her relationship to the Arizona surroundings; the forms of mountains and rocks, colors of the desert earth and brilliant sunsets. The pit fired forms have the quiet colors of the land. The raku pieces have the brilliance and interactions of the colors of the sky.
